A bomb threat email sent to the Chakkar District and Sessions Court complex in Shimla prompted a swift and thorough security response on Wednesday, although no explosive materials were found during subsequent checks.
According to police officials, the threatening message was received on the official email ID of the office of the District and Sessions Judge, Civil and Sessions Division, Shimla on Tuesday. The email claimed that a bomb had been planted within the court premises.
Acting promptly on the information, a team from Boileauganj police station reached the spot along with a dog squad and conducted a comprehensive search of the court building and surrounding areas.

Authorities meticulously inspected the premises to ensure the safety of the people.
After a thorough investigation, no bomb or suspicious object was recovered, and the authorities declared the situation to be normal. Court proceedings resumed without any disruption.
Police have registered an FIR against unknown persons under Sections 353(1)(b), 351(3), 351(4), and 152 of the Indian Penal Code. A technical investigation has been launched to trace the origin of the email and identify those responsible.
Officials said such threatening messages are being taken seriously, and efforts are underway to prevent misuse of digital platforms to create fear or disrupt public institutions.
